Digital Skin is a research in geometry and 3d printing that involves the development of highly cutomizable, algorithm driven, 3d objects with a function of a smartphone case. We have reverse engineered our smmartphone case and developed a enveloping volume using algorithmic modelling in Grasshopper. Each case uses a different algorithm so that each case is unique. Our research focused on the imperfection of the 3d printing process and exploited the traces of the fabrication process that were embedded in the design.
