An article that explores developments in CAD (Computer Aided Design) that lead to a modeling technique known as BIM (Building Information Modeling). Through BIM, architects now are able to have a centralized model for all building geometry and it’s associated information. This leads to new ways in which we use computers in design and presents todays architects with tools for various disciplines integration, coordination, data extraction, analysis and simulation, using a centralized model, accesed by all design participants.
